To Birth Plan or not to Birth Plan – that is the Question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of obstetric fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them.To plan- to prepare-
My Way; and by preparations to say we end
The randomness, and reduce the risk of PTSD
That PND is heir to. ‘Tis so much more
than to be wish’d. To Plan- to prepare.
To Prepare- perchance to Own: ay, there’s the rub!
For in that preparation of birth what pathways may come
When we have considered all our options,
Must give us Confidence. There’s the respect
That makes birth dignified .
